The hydrocephalus research group in Umeå is a multidisciplinary team with senior researchers from Neurology, Biomedical engineering, Neurosurgery, Radiology and Control system. We cover a very wide aspect of hydrocephalus with everything from clinical studies focusing on diagnosis, shunt selection and patho-physiological hypothesis, as well as development of mathematical models, new sensors, measurement techniques and signal processing methods for characterizing and understanding the fluid mechanics of the brain and spinal compartments.
